Education important as it may be, comes down to the parents. Our children though they get their academic grades from more qualified educators, still look for their parents help. The best ways to research a project or just a simple helping hand when the project requires adult intervention. Educators will teach your child how to read and write and do arithmetic but as parents we have to show the work ethic side. We have to be the ones to set examples to our children first, before any academic venues can progress. With school counselors helping each student determine their academic path through school, it’s up to the parent to help them through the life struggles of achievement. We prepare our children through work ethics at home and teach our children the importance of a good education.
The parent has to enforce their child’s character even though they may not like school.
Parents struggle with their kids over topics like this every day, parents have to show their children the importance of a good education and what it will represent later on in the work force. If a parent doesnt control this aspect of their child’s education it will not be enforced any where else. You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make them drink as the saying goes.
Children learn more with parental support and we should have an active role in their education as they mature and progress. We have to realize that teachers and the size of class rooms they teach in now, have large number of students. The one on one teaching to a child has deteriorated and often the child is on their own to learn. The parent has the responsibility to help the child and make sure he stays up to date on his work. Children learn at different stages and some find themselves slipping further behind because of understanding what is presented. Other kids may not understand the subject because of the fast pace of a subject and the way it is presented to the class. We have to be our child’s motivator and make sure they have this understanding to keep pace in the class room.
Pressures of not being left behind in the class room reflect on how we as parents neglect our children and take for granted the child knows the subject. We should ask the child questions inadvertently to see if they truly do understand and if they don’t, then we should offer assistance to help. There are many things we as parents should do but we don’t. We put our children’s total conception of learning into the teacher’s hands and the child fails miserably. Only by guidance of the parent can the child be assured they will not be left behind in the class room. It is the parents responsibility to keep the child in the loop of education and the teachers responsibility is to provide the tools and fundamentals of learning.
